![]() 'Down in the Hole' is a convincing blues. ![]() Coming after the enthralling success of the punk-new wave inspired Some Girls album, Emotional Rescue was seen as a bit of a letdown at the time of its arrival, despite spawning a solid radio hit with the title track and 'She's So Cold.' While the album doesn't possess the manic, psychic energy of Some Girls, it does possess a strong street vibe that displays an aging band hardly down for the count.ฤก' reflects Mick Jagger's interest in keeping the band current with New York's nightclub scene, while 'Summer Romance,' 'Let Me Go,' and 'Where the Boys Go' stay true to the Stones' musical voice with guitarists Keith Richards and Ron Wood mimicking one another in slightly staggered time. Richards' somber, nearly mournful ballad 'All About You' closes things beautifully. 'Indian Girl' is another one of Jagger's likable country music parodies by way of Cuba, while 'Send it to Me' falls slightly short of its calypso ambitions.
